Frescoes

During the major restoration of 1959-80, it was discovered that much of the church had been decorated with colourful frescoes until the Alteration of 1578. When the Protestants took power, they covered the frescoes with a thick layer of white paint. After the restoration, some of the frescoes were made visible again. We see angels ascending to heaven and beautiful decorations in the vaulting.
