Dalai Lama visits The Netherlands

DALAI LAMA TO THE NETHERLANDS. This fall, from 14 –  17 september, the Dalai Lama pays a visit to the Netherlands. On 15 september he’ll be in in Amsterdam to join an exceptional dialogue, organised by De Nieuwe Kerk. The Dalai Lama will speak on the theme of Compassion and Technology with youngsters and scientists, among which Faculty Members van SingularityU The Netherlands. It marks the opening ceremony of the exhibition Buddha’s Life, path to the present. The dialogue consists of two parts: Robotics, Telepresence & Artificial Intelligence and Sickness, Ageing & Death, composed by content partner SingularityU The Netherlands and De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. The opening and the dialogue is a private event.
Information of the exhibition

On September 16th and 17th he will give two public lectures in the Rotterdam Ahoy. The first lecture will be preceded by a conversation between the Dalai Lama and Richard Gere, in his role as chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT). This part of the program is in honour of the 30th anniversary of ICT.

The visit of the Dalai Lama to the Netherlands is all about compassion and why compassion is essential in this troubled time. The Dalai Lama: “Developing compassion and understanding for others brings what we all seek: peace and happiness.” The Dalai Lama comes to the Netherlands at the invitation of De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam and the Dalai Lama Visit Foundation.
