Buddhism in 2018 society

‘Without inner change, no outer change’

– Angel Kyodo Williams

In cooperation with Buddhist Film Festival @ EYE, De Nieuwe Kerk presents a lecture and guided meditation by the renowned Zen priest Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams. Williams, a social visionairy and empassioned spiritual teacher, is one of the two black women that were ever authorised as Zen priest in the Japanese tradition. She established the Center for Transformative Change in Berkeley, California, and is involved as a teacher at the Brooklyn Zen Center. She is devoted to bring new life to ideals and social movements on a spiritual and ethical basis. To help create a world with more common space and dignity for humanity, without racial discrimination and with equal rights for every human being.

The meditation sessions that she guides are invitations to get in touch with our inner being. After the meditation, Williams will start a dialogue with the audience about inner liberation and outward transformation. What is Buddhism bringing to us in 2018?
