Opening world première World Press Photo Exhibition 2020 on June 1

65 years World Press Photo | 10 years Digital Storytelling Contest

On June 1,, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2020 will open to the public in De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. It is the world première of the annual exhibition presenting the winners of the international press photography competition, which makes an extensive tour of more than 120 cities worldwide. It was 65 years ago, in 1955, that the first edition of World Press Photo took place. In addition, the tenth edition of the Digital Storytelling Contest is also on view, in which award-winning interactive and video productions are presented. The World Press Photo Foundation will announce the nominees on 25 February and the winners on Thursday 16 April, during the Awards Show (online).

De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam and World Press Photo Foundation have been working together since 2014 and will continue to join forces for the next five years. We combine knowledge and expertise to give the annual world première a new boost. The World Press Photo Exhibition 2020 is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm until August 30.
