| Summary | The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and De Nieuwe Kerk church will be presenting a special joint exhibition from 11 August until 11 November 2007 entitled 'HERO'. The exhibition will be held in De Nieuwe Kerk church in Amsterdam. Drawing from the Rijksmuseum's historical collection, the exhibition will focus on heroes, hero status and hero worship in the Netherlands. Various types of heroes are presented thematically: official heroes, folk heroes, controversial heroes and personal heroes. A broad array of objects will be on display, ranging from paintings to computer games, from personal mementoes to official statues and from posters to sound recordings. Last year, the two museums jointly presented Fashion DNA. |
